This site houses the storytimes I have done over the past few years and associated materials.

The programs included here were designed for a mixed age group including children ranging in age from 1-5 years.  Each program is about 30 minutes, including four books, four songs/fingerplays, and time to complete a small art project.  Parents participate with their children.

A typical program is described below.

Basic Storytime Program

Start by introducing myself and invite the children to take a stuffed animal to hold during the program (our story room is lined with shelves with lots of stuffed animals).

Introductory Song
[Child's name] is wearing [color] today, [color] today, [color] today.  [Child's name] is wearing [color] today.  Please stand up!  Eveyone claps for the child and then repeat for the next child.  For a large group, you could sing "Who is wearing [color] today?" including enough colors so that every child gets to stand up.  But I sing each name whenever I can so I can learn them.
Wiggle Rhyme
We wiggle our fingers
We wiggle our toes
We sit on our bottoms
And wiggle our nose
Now no more wiggles are left in me
So I can be still, as still as can be.
